Opening Fall 2025 | Karter Little Wins – Ashburn, VA

Choosing a preschool for your child is never easy. When your child is on the autism spectrum, that decision becomes even more important—and often more overwhelming. You want a place that truly understands your child. A place where their needs are met, their milestones are celebrated, and their individuality is honored every day.

At Karter Little Wins, we’re building exactly that. Opening in July 2025, our new early intervention center in Ashburn, VA is designed for children ages 2–6 with autism and developmental differences. But we know we’re not just opening a school—we’re creating a community.

So what actually makes a great autism preschool? Based on research, expert input, and our deep commitment to children and families, here are six things we believe every specialized preschool should offer—and what we’re working tirelessly to build at Karter Little Wins.

1. Low Student-to-Teacher Ratios

Children with autism thrive in environments where they receive personalized attention and predictable support. That’s why we are designing Little Wins with low student-to-teacher ratios and dedicated 1:1 aides when needed—so every child gets the individualized care they deserve.

2. Integrated Therapeutic Support

We’re creating a space where therapy and education go hand in hand. Our classrooms will welcome external providers such as speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists—so your child doesn’t have to leave the classroom for the services they need.

3. Highly Trained Educators

At Karter Little Wins, our special education teachers will be more than just qualified—they’ll be trained in early childhood development, autism strategies, and trauma-informed care.

Through the Karter Training Institute, we’re investing in ongoing professional development to ensure our team can meet children where they are and help them grow.

4. Sensory-Friendly Environments

We know that physical space matters. That’s why we’re designing Little Wins with calming colors, quiet zones, sensory play areas, and adaptive materials—so children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn on their terms.

5. A Play-Based, Montessori-Inspired Curriculum

We’re combining the best of play-based learning with a Montessori-inspired approach that emphasizes independence, hands-on discovery, and emotional awareness. For children with autism, this model supports both structure and flexibility—offering opportunities for growth at every stage.

6. Family Partnership

We’re not just enrolling children—we’re supporting families. From regular updates to caregiver coaching, Karter Little Wins will be a place where families are empowered, heard, and actively involved in their child’s progress.

We’re Not Just Opening a School.

We’re Building a Place Where Little Wins Lead to Big Futures.

At Karter Little Wins, every child’s success—whether it’s a first word, a confident smile, or a moment of connection—is a reason to celebrate. We believe those “little wins” lay the foundation for lifelong confidence and possibility.

Our doors open in July 2025—and we can’t wait to welcome your family into something truly special.
